Permaculture Artisans takes a different approach to a traditional landscape maintenance program. We have found that one of our best gifts to a rural landowner and that of the Care of the Earth is to provide Ecological Land Management services.
Many rural properties have significant natural features and resources. If not managed properly these natural resources (forests, grasslands, wetlands etc.) can fall into a state of disease, loss of biodiversity and in many cases can pose a fire threat to the property and a pollution threat to the watershed.
Permaculture Artisans has over a decade in the field of managing natural resources ecologically. Whether it is a fire prone forest, an invasive grass meadow or extensive erosion and drainage issues, we can assess your property and develop a plan for bringing the natural systems back to a state of health.

Much of the work we do with grasslands and forests have the potential to sequester carbon into the soil. The soil can be thought of as a carbon battery. Due to human land use patterns soils have been damaged and topsoil has washed away. As a result, many soils in the world are not functioning at their maximum capacity to hold carbon. By building soil through rotational grazing, keyline plowing, compost teas, planting strategies, and onsite biomass decomposition, we can charge the soil with carbon reducing greenhouse gas accumulation in the atmosphere.
